The American diet has changed dramatically.
What used to be built around food from kitchens, gardens, farms, and home cooking has largely been replaced by ultra-processed food. And the numbers may show us part of the result.
About 40.3% of American adults now have obesity, and severe obesity is close to 1 in 10 adults. Among Americans age 1 and older, about 55% of total calories now come from ultra-processed foods; for children and teens, it is nearly 62%. Meanwhile, the CDC estimates 40.1 million Americans have diabetes and 115.2 million adults have prediabetes. Nearly half of U.S. adults also have hypertension.
So maybe the question is not, “What is wrong with our bodies?”
Maybe the better question is, “What happened to our food?”
Since a consistent theme in our scans is DAMP, we may end up focusing on that for the rest of the week — because damp isn’t really one thing.
It’s more like a pattern of heaviness, sluggishness, fog, congestion, swelling, mucus, lymph stagnation, emotional stickiness, and difficulty moving forward.
What encourages damp?
Too much sugar, dairy, refined flour, ultra-processed food, greasy food, cold drinks, overeating, eating when stressed, lack of movement, poor sleep, unresolved worry, and a weakened digestive “fire.”
It can also show up when the body is carrying too much — too many toxins, too many emotions, too many obligations, too much sitting, too much screen time…
A damp pattern may show up as acne, arthritis, asthma, brain fog, candida, chronic fatigue, chronic inflammation, congestion, constipation, cravings for comfort foods, cysts, depression, diabetes, edema, emotional stuckness, endometriosis, feeling “blah,” feeling like life has no forward movement, fibroids, fibromyalgia, food addiction, heaviness, heavy menstrual bleeding, hypothyroid-like sluggishness, indecision, insulin resistance, irritable bowel patterns, kidney or gallstones, low motivation, lymphatic congestion, mucus or phlegm, puffiness in the face or eyes, recurrent colds, recurring infections, sinus congestion, spleen/stomach stress, sluggish digestion, swelling, tumor/cyst patterns, varicose veins, and weight gain.
Based on a scan of the above, today we resonate with the following cocktails via the P4 — and remember, if you have the SRC and would like these cocktails, please let me know.
Recurring infections
Sluggish digestion
Varicose veins
The SRC can’t “fix” this — although it can definitely assist.
The true technology — YOU — is activated by choices made… maybe starting with what we’re eating for dinner tonight, and whether it helps the fog lift or roll back in.
And, yes, it may be time for some emergency climate control.

Can you suggest an example of what a good dinner would look like
that would not increase the dampening?
After the last couple days and many of the patterns from this post showing up I came back to it and I would love the cocktails Cathy! i will text you the request but I wanted to post that last night I made a Sweet potato soup that gave my mind and body a wonderful relief. I woke this morning to continue with farina cereal (not one for you gluten sensitive folks but a go to for spleen and stomach issues) and I added cardamon, ginger and goji berries with MCT oil and a spot of honey. I have a glass jar of barley and ginger outside sun steeping for tea to dry me up later. Happy 4th of July everyone and take care of yourselves while you enjoy life’s pleasures!
