In another 15 minutes or so I’m going into a 24-hour digital detox.
We’ll see how that goes.
Meanwhile, the group will be running on the following:
THREAT • SAFETY • NERVOUS SYSTEM
Sacral Chakra — involved with Feeling
Overall Theme — Posterior Throat Chakra + Tight-Lipped + “Strength to speak your truth with self.”
Taken together, that makes:
SAFE TRUTHFUL EXPRESSION.
Maybe that’s a sign that I can share how I feel about the Lindsay Clancy case.
Which I was going to do anyway.
How did empathy for one person become so dominant that three dead children are left out of the equation?
Why the massive GoFundMe — in her parents’ names — that is now over $1.2 million, with a goal of $3 million?
Lindsay Clancy had a husband who made a good living, a housekeeper and a part-time nanny. She also had family involved and helping.
Here’s a stark contrast:
Monica, mother of eight in Searcy, Arkansas.
An electrical fire made the family’s home unlivable. Her fundraiser says she got all eight children out and was able to grab only a laundry basket of clothes.
The GoFundMe was started August 25, 2026.
So far there is a grand total of:
$55 from two donations.
Maybe the problem was that she got her children out—
Which brings up another point:
What’s going on with the women who seem so filled with discontent- even hate- toward motherhood?
Some possible contributors to all this — take them or leave them:
The birth-control pill — hormonal contraception apparently can affect mood and emotional well-being in some women.
There may be some negatives associated with indiscriminate sex which picked up compliments of birth control.
No-fault divorce changed the landscape of marriage and divorce —Although divorce rates have been slowing, because fewer people are marrying in the first place.
There could be stress related to having one or more abortions- check for yourself, but a number of states now have no gestational-age limit written into their abortion law.
Then there’s the stress related to being a single mother.
Finally, some mothers may now be raising children who spend so much time with screens that face-to-face conversation, eye contact, and ordinary human connection seems like a thing of the past.
And—
some mothers themselves may also be impacted by screen related stress.
With all this in mind-
Now begins my own digital detox, which I obviously need.
